China Releases Smart Home Consumption Policy, Smart Lighting to Benefit

2026-10-07 · Industry News

In September 2026, eight Chinese government ministries jointly issued the Smart Home Consumption Promotion Action Plan, pushing forward smart home adoption from both supply and demand sides. As the most basic and highest-penetration entry category of smart home, smart lighting is specifically highlighted.

The policy encourages local governments to provide consumption subsidies for smart home products, and supports simultaneous installation of smart lighting systems in home renovation and commercial retrofit projects. This means downstream demand for smart LED lighting from real estate, hotel and commercial projects will further increase.

From the supply chain perspective, LED downlights, spotlights and strip lights supporting wireless control, scene linkage and motion sensing will see growing demand. Lighting factories with in-house tooling, fast sampling and multi-protocol compatibility will be better positioned to capture these orders.

KINXZO has already built capabilities in smart dimming drivers, Bluetooth Mesh control, and 0-10V/DALI dimmable products, providing multi-protocol commercial lighting solutions tailored to overseas customer needs.
