SAMR has issued the supporting list for the regulation on quality safety supervision of key industrial products sold online. General luminaires and explosion-proof luminaires are now on the list of key products under online-sales supervision, with enforcement starting December 1, 2026.
The impact on lighting sold through e-commerce channels is significant. Previously, quality management of online luminaire sales relied largely on platform self-discipline; under the new rules, products must meet clearer qualification and safety requirements before entering online channels, and platforms will enforce admission checks based on the list.
For manufacturers selling both online and offline, this means re-checking the compliance files of e-commerce SKUs: test reports, certificates of conformity and product information labels. Overseas buyers sourcing via Chinese e-commerce platforms should also ask suppliers for the relevant compliance documentation.
