Human-Centric Lighting Moves into Offices and Clinics

2026-08-08 · Industry News

Human-centric lighting has been discussed in the industry for years, and this year it is starting to show up in real projects.

Industry data shows that tunable-white LEDs used to align lighting with circadian rhythms are gaining ground in offices and healthcare facilities. Typical scenarios: higher colour temperature during the day, lower in the evening, using the rhythm of light to influence employee focus and patient recovery. Such projects are rarely single-product purchases — they are integrated solutions of lighting design and control.

For manufacturers, human-centric lighting means two capability requirements: spectral quality of the light source itself (tunable white needs both channels to hold stable colour coordinates), and driver/control support so that colour-temperature ramps and scene memory actually work. The supply chain for tunable-white modules in China is already mature; the differentiator is systems integration.
